Please join me this evening for another edition of Blue Water Drift Dive on RadioSpiral.net.
Although there will be no live performance tonight (sorry folks, after yesterday’s all-day event, I’m just plain pooped), fear not: tonight we will have an exquisite collection of light ambient music that I hope will send us off into the work week with a positive mindset and a grateful disposition.
In fact, we’ll be opening with one of my very favorite albums of all time, Har’s masterpiece Dream Tower Blueprints, end to end, in its entirety. If you’re not familiar with this music, I strongly encourage you to tune in and hear what you have been missing. Simply gorgeous music by a master of the genre.
In the second hour, we’ll continue with the light ambient theme, with lovely work by Jacob Newman, from his 2009 release No Midpoint To Infinity, followed by an utterly hypnotic piece by Guenter Schlienz from The Sardinian Tapes. And we will close the show with the transfixing South Field: Khyber by Oöphoi and Paul Vnuk, Jr.
The show happens tonight at 10/9/8/7p (2a UTC), immediately following the end of Tony Gerber’s fantastic Ambient Sundays program, and will last at least 2 hours. As with all RadioSpiral.net programs, the emphasis is on community, so of course there is a live chat. If you tune in, I hope you’ll stop by and say hello …
